Acer recently hosted its Rock Paper Scissors event as part of the Acer@Next 2020 program, livestreamed from its headquarters in Taipei. This marked the company’s first fully online product launch event.

The event showcased Acer’s new product lineup, themed around “Rock, Paper, Scissors,” representing durability, portability, and creativity, respectively.

Paper: Thin and Light Innovations

Building on its leading position in the Chromebook market during Q1 2020, Acer introduced the Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713. This 13.5-inch Chromebook boasts the latest Intel processors, Chrome OS with enterprise-level extensions, external display support, and a MIL-STD-810G military-grade chassis for enhanced durability.

Acer also updated the Swift 5 ultrabook with the latest Intel processors and NVIDIA MX350 graphics, while maintaining a featherlight 1kg weight, rivaling other top ultrabooks. Both the Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713 and Swift 5 feature an antimicrobial silver-ion coating for enhanced user safety.

Scissors: Creative Solutions for Content Creators

Representing creativity, the “Scissors” theme highlighted the new ConceptD series, featuring the ConceptD 3 Ezel convertible laptop. Its unique hinge design allows for versatile usage modes. Compatibility with an Active Pen with pressure sensitivity offers a natural drawing experience directly on the screen. A long-lasting battery, providing up to 18 hours of use, caters to the demands of content creators.

Rock: Rugged Devices for Demanding Environments

The “Rock” theme introduced the Enduro series, built for extreme conditions. The flagship Acer Enduro N7 boasts MIL-STD-810G military-grade durability and IP65 dust and water resistance, designed for professionals working in harsh environments.

For everyday outdoor use, the Acer Enduro N3 offers drop and impact resistance with IP53 protection against dust and water splashes, suitable for less extreme conditions.

Acer plans to expand the Enduro series with Android and Windows tablets, providing durable and portable options.

Predator: Gaming Powerhouse

The Rock Paper Scissors event also unveiled new Predator gaming laptops and desktops, including the Predator Helios 300, Predator Helios 700, and Predator Orion 9000.

The updated Predator Helios 300 boasts a 240Hz display with a 3ms response time. The Predator Helios 700 features a redesigned thermal system with Power Gem technology for improved CPU cooling. Both laptops are powered by 10th Gen Intel Core i processors and NVIDIA RTX 2070/2080 Super graphics.

The Predator Orion 9000 desktop features an Intel Core i9 10980XE processor, dual NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti GPUs in SLI, FrostBlade fans, and an EMI-shielded chassis.

Acer also introduced the Predator X25 gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate, G-Sync compatibility, Adaptive Light technology, and LightSense/ColorSense/ProxiSense features for intelligent lighting adjustments.
