External Enhancements and Display
The ROG Strix SCAR 18 immediately commands attention with its imposing size and redesigned chassis. The most striking feature is the expansive 18-inch display, boasting a 90% screen-to-body ratio thanks to minimized bezels and a 16:10 aspect ratio, ideal for productivity tasks and content consumption. Recognizing the increased demand for remote work and learning, ASUS has also reintroduced a webcam.

The SCAR 18 features a Nebula Display with 500nits brightness, QHD resolution, and a 240Hz refresh rate. Like other Nebula Displays, it’s factory-calibrated for accurate color reproduction, making it suitable for professional creative work.
Advanced Cooling System
ASUS has completely overhauled the cooling system. The entire back panel is dominated by a dense array of cooling fins, complementing the traditional side vents. Seven heat pipes and two high-speed fans efficiently dissipate heat. An additional smaller fan extracts heat from the battery compartment and surrounding components, ensuring optimal thermal management. This advanced cooling solution, combined with Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal thermal compound on both the CPU and GPU, allows the SCAR 18 to push performance to unprecedented levels.

Unrivaled Performance
The SCAR 18 packs the latest Intel Core i9-13980HX processor, the current flagship mobile CPU, significantly outperforming its predecessor, the i9-12950HX. In various tasks and games, this new mobile CPU rivals even the desktop-grade Intel Core i7 13700K, while maintaining impressive power efficiency.

The laptop utilizes both NVIDIA Optimus technology, seamlessly switching between integrated and discrete graphics for power saving, and MUX Switch technology, allowing direct GPU output to the display for reduced latency and enhanced performance. The NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU represents a substantial leap over the previous generation’s RTX 3080 Ti, offering performance comparable to a desktop RTX 4070 Ti, but with superior power efficiency.

This combination of cutting-edge hardware allows the SCAR 18 to effortlessly handle demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Control at maximum settings, including ray tracing, at high frame rates.
