ASUS Unveils Cable-Free BTF Ecosystem for Cleaner PC Builds

ASUS recently announced its Back-to-the-Future (BTF) ecosystem at CES 2024, featuring ROG and TUF Gaming components designed to minimize visible cables on the front of PC cases. This innovative approach promises a cleaner and more streamlined PC building experience.

Concealed Connections for a Tidy Setup

BTF components cleverly conceal common motherboard connectors like SATA, power, fan headers, and front panel connections. The TUF Gaming B760M-BTF WiFi D4 motherboard exemplifies this design philosophy, tucking away these connections for a cleaner aesthetic. ASUS engineers have gone even further, aiming to eliminate visible GPU power cables by enabling power delivery through the motherboard itself. This “Advance BTF PC” concept promises the ultimate in cable management.

Redesigned Motherboard Layout

To accommodate this reconfiguration of connectors, ASUS has redesigned the motherboard’s rear, incorporating clear markings to facilitate assembly. Compatible BTF cases are also part of the ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration and support for this novel connection method.

Cutting-Edge Technology and Premium Components

BTF motherboards retain the high-end features and components found in their standard counterparts. They incorporate advanced power delivery solutions for top-tier processors and even boast features like Wi-Fi 7 on select models. The ROG Maximus Z790 Hero BTF, for example, boasts a 20+1+2 power stage configuration, PCIe 5.0 support, dual Thunderbolt™ 4 ports, and a SupremeFX 7.1 audio solution with an ESS® ES9218 Quad DAC™.

TUF Gaming Embraces the BTF Aesthetic

The TUF Gaming Z790-BTF WiFi showcases a striking black PCB contrasted by silver heatsinks and accents, designed to stand out in modern PC builds. This board features a 16+1+1 power stage design, a six-layer PCB, alloy chokes, and durable capacitors to ensure reliable performance with 14th Gen Intel CPUs.
