COLORFUL Graphics Cards Demonstrate DLSS 2.0 Performance Boost in Death Stranding
Contents
COLORFUL has showcased the performance benefits of NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling 2.0 (DLSS 2.0) technology on its GeForce RTX 20-Series graphics cards. This AI-powered rendering technology utilizes Tensor Cores to improve both frame rates and overall visual fidelity. COLORFUL conducted tests across five different graphics cards—the GTX 1660 SUPER, RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER, RTX 2080 SUPER, and RTX 2080 Ti—using Death Stranding, a game that supports DLSS 2.0. The tests compared performance with DLSS OFF, DLSS 2.0 Quality Mode ON, and DLSS 2.0 Performance Mode ON, highlighting the significant impact of this technology.
DLSS 2.0 Performance at 1080p Resolution
At 1080p resolution, the GTX 1660 SUPER achieved a playable 60 FPS with DLSS OFF, peaking at 90 FPS. The RTX cards, however, significantly outperformed, easily reaching up to 144 FPS with DLSS enabled, ideal for high refresh rate 144Hz monitors.

DLSS 2.0 Performance at 1440p Resolution
Moving up to 1440p resolution, the GTX 1660 SUPER managed to maintain around 60 FPS with DLSS OFF. The RTX 2060 SUPER and above demonstrated a substantial performance increase with DLSS 2.0 Performance Mode, averaging around 144 FPS, a gain of approximately 40 FPS compared to DLSS OFF. This improvement allows for smoother gameplay at higher resolutions.

DLSS 2.0 Performance at 4K Resolution
Even at the demanding 4K resolution, the RTX 20-Series cards comfortably exceeded 60 FPS with DLSS enabled. The RTX 2080 Ti achieved an impressive 132 FPS using DLSS 2.0 Performance Mode. This high frame rate demonstrates the power of DLSS 2.0 to enable high-fidelity gaming experiences at 4K resolution.

Conclusion: DLSS 2.0 Significantly Boosts Performance
The results clearly demonstrate that DLSS 2.0 can boost frame rates by an average of 36% simply by enabling the feature, without compromising visual quality or detail. This technology allows gamers to enjoy smoother gameplay and higher resolutions, particularly beneficial for demanding titles like Death Stranding. COLORFUL’s testing highlights the advantages of DLSS 2.0 for enhancing the gaming experience on RTX 20-Series graphics cards.
