Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is launching a new game mode for the upcoming season inspired by the popular social deduction game, Among Us. This new mode, called Double Agent, promises a thrilling experience filled with deception and intrigue.

The official Call of Duty YouTube channel released a trailer showcasing Double Agent mode on Thursday. This mode pits ten players against each other, each assigned a random role at the start of the match.

Two players are designated as Double Agents. Their objective is to eliminate all other players or successfully plant and detonate bombs scattered across the map. The majority of players will be assigned the role of Operatives. Their task is to identify and eliminate the Double Agents while staying alive.

The final role is the Investigator. This player receives special clues to help identify the Double Agents. Crucially, the Investigator can issue Warrants for players suspected of treachery.

Double Agent mode includes several additional features. Players can scavenge weapons during the initial phase of the match. Double Agents also receive specific tools to aid them in achieving their objectives, giving them a tactical advantage.

In-game voice chat is a core element of Double Agent mode. Players will need to communicate to strategize, share information, and ultimately, uncover the hidden Double Agents. This encourages teamwork among Operatives and provides opportunities for Double Agents to sow discord and manipulate their opponents. The ability to accurately interpret voice chat and discern truth from lies will be essential to survival.
