In the Kingdom of Random, a child’s destiny is determined at the age of 12 by the roll of a single die, dictating which of the six realms they will inhabit for the remainder of their lives. Each realm, numbered one through six, reflects the face of the die, with higher numbers signifying more prosperous living conditions. Travel between realms is forbidden, making the die roll a life-altering event.

The story follows two sisters, Even and Odd, who grow up in the impoverished realm of Onecroft. When Odd reaches 12, she rolls a six, securing a place in the opulent Sixtopia, ruled by the Queen. While seemingly fortunate, Even’s dreams suggest a darker reality behind Sixtopia’s facade, prompting her to embark on a perilous journey to rescue her sister. Armed with only a slingshot, Even’s quest begins.

A Unique Card-Based Combat System

Even’s seemingly inadequate slingshot becomes a conduit for a unique combat system. Instead of traditional leveling and equipment upgrades, Lost in Random introduces Dicey, a living die companion. During combat, Even uses her slingshot to target enemy weak points, releasing energy crystals that Dicey collects. Once charged, Dicey can be rolled, granting Even a number of points corresponding to the die’s face. These points are used to draw cards representing various weapons and abilities.

For instance, a roll of two allows Even to draw a card that transforms her slingshot into a powerful bow or perhaps a card that summons an energy sword for close combat.
