The Plextor M8V Plus Series builds upon the success of the well-received M8V SSDs. The M8V Plus line offers higher capacity options, up to 1TB, and utilizes 96-layer 3D NAND flash memory, a significant upgrade from the previous generation’s 64-layer 3D NAND.

Performance and Reliability

Powered by the SMI SM2258 controller and KIOXIA’s 96-layer BiCS FLASH™ 3D NAND memory, the M8VC Plus (SATA 2.5”) and M8VG Plus (M.2) deliver sequential read/write speeds of up to 560/520 MB/s and random read/write speeds of up to 90,000/88,000 IOPS.

Furthermore, the Plextor M8V Plus series incorporates data shaping technology and a RAID engine to enhance product longevity, stability, and overall value. Available in capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB, these SSDs cater to diverse system and application requirements.

Data Integrity and Security

The M8VC Plus and M8VG Plus are designed with Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) error correction technology, minimizing data errors and enhancing data security for robust data protection.

Exclusive Software Suite

Plextor also includes a suite of proprietary software with the M8VC Plus and M8VG Plus:

• PlexCompressor: Optimizes storage space by automatically compressing files that haven’t been used in 30 days.
• PlexVault: Securely hides sensitive data with user-defined passwords.
• Plexturbo: Intelligent caching technology reduces unnecessary write cycles, extending SSD lifespan.

Availability

The M8VC Plus and M8VG Plus SSDs were released in October 2020. However, the official launch date may vary depending on the region.
