Xeta Retires from CS:GO, Transitions to Valorant
Korean CS:GO star Son “Xeta” Seon-Ho has announced his retirement from the game and his transition to the newly released tactical shooter, Valorant. Xeta made a name for himself as a key player on MVP PK, one of Korea’s top CS:GO teams, joining them in mid-2018. He consistently ranked amongst the most impactful players in the Korean CS:GO scene.
During his tenure with MVP PK, Xeta helped the team qualify for several prestigious international CS:GO tournaments, including IEM Sydney 2019 and ESL One Cologne in July 2019.

In his retirement announcement, Xeta also shared his intention to pursue a professional career in Valorant. This transition isn’t entirely surprising, as Xeta follows in the footsteps of other prominent CS:GO players who have made the switch. Notably, North American CS:GO star Braxton “Brax” Pierce left professional CS:GO to join T1’s Valorant roster in March 2020.

This shift reflects the growing popularity and competitive potential of Valorant, attracting established esports athletes from other titles. While Xeta’s departure marks a loss for the CS:GO community, it also signals an exciting new chapter in his esports career. It will be interesting to follow his progress and see how he impacts the Valorant competitive scene.
